After the completion of his Master's degree in History of Medicine at UQAM, Jean-Pierre Robitaille worked at the Centre interuniversitaire de recherche sur la science et la technologie (CIRST) from 1995 to 1999, where he was editor, among other things, of the Bulletin de l'enseignement supérieur. From 1999 to 2002, as an analyst for the Observatoire des sciences et des technologies, he took part in the production of numerous reports. From 2002 to 2004, he produced several research studies for Quebec's Conseil de la science et de la technologie. Since 2005, he acts as the Observatoire's coordinator.
